Short answers about your account, projects, the editor, the plan check, sharing, Premium and import/export — plus search across the whole knowledge base.

Account & sign-in

Do I need an account?

Not just to try it out — you can start planning right away. As soon as you want to keep your plan or open it on more than one device, you create a free account.

Open Trackplanner →

What does Trackplanner cost?

Planning and the core features are free. Advanced pro features come with Trackplanner Premium; you'll find the current prices right in the app under "Premium".

How do I delete my account or cancel?

You manage your Premium membership and your account in the app's account settings. That's where you cancel Premium or delete your account together with all its data.

Projects & saving

Is my plan saved automatically?

Yes. When you're signed in, your plan is saved to the cloud continuously so nothing gets lost. Without an account the plan only lives locally in your browser — sign in to keep it for good.

Keep your plan →

Where do I find my projects again?

Every saved plan sits in your project overview, which you open after signing in. From there you open, copy or delete any plan.

Go to your projects →

Can I copy a project?

Yes. In the project overview you duplicate any plan with one click and keep working on the copy without touching the original.

Manage projects →

Using the editor

How do I undo something?

Undo any step with Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on a Mac) and redo with Ctrl+Y. Alternatively use the arrow buttons in the toolbar.

Build your first oval →

Can I change the track system or baseboard size later?

You can adjust the baseboard size at any time in the project settings. The track system is set when you create the plan; switching it is possible but does not automatically swap tracks you have already laid.

Open the editor →

Does Trackplanner work on a tablet?

Yes, Trackplanner runs in the browser and responds to touch. For precise planning we still recommend a larger screen with a mouse.

Plan check

What does the plan check look at?

The plan check reviews your track plan continuously for typical mistakes — such as radii that are too tight, gradients that are too steep, S-curves without a straight between them or missing clearance. Every rule explains the why and suggests a fix.

All plan-check rules →

Why do I only see counters instead of details?

In the free version the plan check shows how many findings there are per category — the details for each finding are Premium. That way you honestly see what would need doing before you decide on Premium.

Sharing & collaboration

How do I share a plan?

With "Share" you create a link others can open to view — no account of their own required. The tutorial on planning together shows how this works in a club.

Plan together →

Can several people work on one plan at the same time?

Yes. Invite fellow planners via "Share" and grant them build rights — then you work on the same plan live. Presence avatars show who's online and where they're building; changes appear instantly for everyone.

Pricing & Premium

Why is a feature locked?

Locked features belong to Trackplanner Premium and are marked with a padlock. Clicking it explains the feature and leads to the upgrade — core planning always stays free.

Import & export

Can I import WinTrack plans?

Yes. Trackplanner reads WinTrack files and takes over the track geometry so you don't start from scratch. The tutorial "Switching from WinTrack" walks you through the import step by step.

How do I print a plan at 1:1?

Use the export to create a to-scale PDF that you print at 1:1 and lay straight onto the baseboard as a building template. When printing, be sure to choose "actual size" (100 %, no page scaling).
