Account & sign-in
Do I need an account?
Not for looking: public plans and the gallery open without signing in, and the “Show your layout” page previews a plan file of your own. To plan and save, you need an account — it's free.
What does Trackplanner cost?
Planning is free, with no limit on the number of tracks. Premium comes as a monthly or yearly subscription you can cancel at any time; among other things it unlocks heights and the large 3D view, private plans and 1:1 printing. Prices and the full comparison are on the pricing page.
How do I delete my account or cancel?
You cancel Premium in the app from your profile (“Manage subscription & invoices”) or without signing in via the cancellation form. Your projects stay after cancelling, private ones included. “Delete account” removes your account: private and unlisted projects are deleted, public ones stay anonymized (author: “deleted user”).
Projects & saving
Is my plan saved automatically?
Yes. Every change is saved right away and synced to the cloud automatically; the indicator at the top shows the state, such as “Synced” or “Offline”. If you're offline, the app keeps saving locally and sends your changes once the connection is back.
Where do I find my projects again?
The app's start page lists your latest projects under “Recently edited”; “See all” opens the “All projects” list with search, filters and sorting. Deleted projects go to the “Trash” (link at the bottom of the start page), where you can restore them for one year.
Using the editor
How do I undo something?
Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on a Mac) undoes the last step, Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z redoes it. The “Undo” and “Redo” buttons sit in the top bar; their small arrow opens the list of recent steps, so you can take back several at once. Undo even survives reloading the page.
Can I change the track system or baseboard size later?
Yes, both. You reshape the baseboards at any time with the “Baseboard” tool — dimensions, corners, curves, extra boards. You switch the track system in the track palette, even mid-plan, and can mix systems of the same scale. Only the scale you pick when creating the plan is fixed; tracks already laid are not swapped automatically when you switch systems.
Does Trackplanner work on a tablet?
Yes, on a tablet you use the editor by touch: tap to select, drag to move, two fingers to zoom, long-press to pick a single piece. On a phone a plan opens read-only at first, because the screen is too small for editing. For precise planning, a large screen with a mouse works best.
Plan check
What does the plan check look at?
The “Check” in the top bar keeps checking your plan for typical mistakes — too-tight radii, too-steep grades, station tracks that are too short (soon), S-curves without a straight in between or missing clearance (partly soon). An operations analysis also spots reversing loops, run-around tracks, staging yards and more. Every finding explains the why; where possible, “Show fix” previews a correction.
Why do I only see counters instead of details?
The basic check and the operations analysis are free and show every finding in full. Precision analysis, height profile and clearance are Premium — in the free version you only see how many findings there are (as of opening the plan). That way you honestly know what needs doing before you decide on Premium.
Sharing & collaboration
How do I share a plan?
“Share” in the top bar lets you copy the link to your plan (“Copy link”). Whoever opens it sees the plan in the browser, no account needed. For the link to work, the plan must not be set to “Private”.
Why is my plan public?
On a free account all projects are public and can appear in the gallery — in return you get permanent hosting and a stable link. With Premium you choose the visibility yourself: “Private”, “Unlisted (link only)” or “Public”. Private projects stay private even after you cancel.
Can several people work on one plan at the same time?
Yes, with Premium. Under “Share” you invite people by email and give them “Can view” or “Can edit”; anyone who should edit needs a Premium account of their own. Then you work live on the same plan: avatars show who is there, and changes appear for everyone instantly.

Import & export
Can I import WinTrack, AnyRail or XtrkCAD plans?
Yes, for free. Trackplanner reads WinTrack (.tra), AnyRail (.any), XtrkCAD (.xtc) and plans from the old Trackplanner version 1.0 (.glp); WinTrack and AnyRail files may be up to 5 MB. Tracks come across with manufacturer geometry including flex track, plus — depending on the format — heights, layers, labels, baseboards and some accessories; the preview shows what comes along and what doesn't before you save. How do I print a plan at 1:1?
“Export” → “1:1 print (PDF)” creates a true-to-scale building template, tiled across A4 pages, to lay on your baseboard. Set your printer to “100% / no scaling” and measure the printed 10 cm line. 1:1 printing is part of Premium; exporting as an image (PNG) is free too, with a watermark.
