Your first layout — step by step
Five chapters around the same base oval: Part 1 builds it, Parts 2–5 each add their own building block (station, reversing loop, second track, trains). Read in order they form a learning path — but each part starts from your oval, not from the previous one. You can build the same curriculum interactively in the app. Build along in the app ↗
1 First oval with a siding From an empty board to a running loop with one turnout and a siding — in about ten minutes. 10 min 2 Grow the oval into a station The loop becomes a layout with operation: a runaround, a second platform track and a name. 15 min 3 Reversing loop around the hill The line runs around the outside and turns the train around — including the business with the polarity. 15 min 4 Double-track main line A second track parallel to the oval — in seconds with the ∥ tool, plus a crossover. 15 min 5 Run trains & spot problems Define your train, place it on the rails and read the plan check like a pro. 10 min
How-tos
Switching from WinTrack Bring your WinTrack plan across — the import takes over the track geometry automatically, then you check it with fresh eyes. 10 min Planning together in a club Share a plan, grant view or build rights and build together live — with presence avatars. 8 min The train profile in detail Build train categories from loco and cars, read the fit check and understand the minimum-radius recommendation. 10 min
