Turnout facing
Work in progress: This section is still a work in progress — content is being added and revised continuously.
What is checked? Do the industry turnouts of a station without a runaround face both ways (mixed facing/trailing moves)?
Why does it matter? If all spurs face the same way, one train works them in a single run. Mixed orientation forces a run-round for every other spot — fine with a runaround (some build it deliberately as a shunting puzzle!), tedious without. The rule is deliberately just a notice: there is no right or wrong here, only a “do you know what you’re signing up for?”.
How to fix it: Mirror the turnout (the Trackplanner knows the mirrored counterpart) — or add a runaround, and the notice disappears by itself.
Numbers & defaults: notice level, only without a runaround facility.
