Helix

A helix carries the track in a spiral over several turns up or down — the most space-efficient way to connect levels (e.g. main level and staging yard). Critical figures: radius, gradient and the headroom between turns (clearance plus trackbed thickness). The Trackplanner’s helix assistant computes the required turns from radius, gradient and target height.
