Flex track minimum radius
Work in progress: This section is still a work in progress — content is being added and revised continuously.
What is checked? Flex track bends any way you like — including too tightly. The Trackplanner already colours pinch points red while you bend; this rule additionally collects every pinch point into the findings list so none is overlooked.
Why does it matter? A hand-bent flex curve has no “snap” at the minimum radius — a short 25 cm pinch hidden inside an otherwise generous sweep is nearly invisible in the plan, yet the first long vehicle will derail there reliably.
How to fix it: “Optimise radius” on the flex track (ends stay put, the belly widens) or redraw the route. If no placement provides the required radius, the alignment itself is too tight.
Numbers & defaults: plan minimum radius (H0 default: 360 mm = R1); the per-category minimum radii from the train profile apply on top.
