Narrow gauge (H0e, H0m)

Narrow-gauge railways use a smaller gauge than standard gauge on the prototype (e.g. 750 mm or metre gauge). In the model, the scale ratio is kept and only the gauge is reduced: H0e (9 mm gauge) represents narrow gauge at 1:87, H0m (12 mm) metre gauge. This makes branch and mountain lines particularly space-efficient.
