Layout shape (rectangle, L, U)

The layout shape describes the footprint: the rectangular board is the classic, L and U shapes exploit walls and room corners better and yield longer runs on the same area. Important for all shapes: every spot must stay reachable for building and for rescuing stalled trains (rule of thumb: arm’s length, about 60–70 cm reach).
